The West Haven High School football team had a historic season in which the Blue Devils reached the CIAC Class LL State Championship Game, marking their first state finals appearance in 20 years. West Haven finished the season with a 10-3 overall record and racked up several postseason accolades.
Most recently, three Blue Devils were named to the 2023 Connecticut High School Coaches Association (CHSCA) All-State Teams; senior running back Camren Kemp, senior wide receiver Armani Reid, and junior quarterback Nick Conlan. Kemp and Reid were named Top 28 players in the State, while Conlan was the lone quarterback selected on the Class LL/L Offensive Team.
West Haven was just one of five teams with multiple players selected in the Top 28, as North Haven, Staples, and Windsor had two selections as well, and New Canaan led the way with three.
In addition to the All-State recognition, Conlan, Kemp, and Reid were also previously named Southern Connecticut Conference (SCC) Tier 1 All-Conference selections on offense while senior Aedan Coe (defensive back) was named a Tier 1 Defensive honoree. Conlan highlighted the list as he was named the 2023 SCC Co-Player of the Year and head coach Rich Boshea was named the 2023 SCC Coach of the Year.
