On Friday, August 23, 2024, Washington Elementary School Principal Alicia Limosani was presented with a check from the Burlington Store, a national discount retailer, through its partnership with the national non-profit organization, AdoptAClassroom.org, for $5,000. This donation is earmarked for teachers to purchase much-needed classroom supplies, ensuring that they have the resources necessary to succeed now and in the future.
In her remarks, Principal Limosani expressed deep gratitude, saying, “I’m very thankful and humble that Burlington chose us. I know that all these funds will be put to good use, and the teachers will definitely appreciate it.”
Following the check presentation, Principal Limosani addressed the large crowd standing outside, waiting to enter the new Burlington Store in Milford, CT. A ribbon-cutting ceremony proceeded, celebrating the store’s opening.
AdoptAClassroom.org provides educators with an online marketplace of more than 20 school and office supply vendors where they can purchase the materials and tools they need to better engage with their students.
