West Haven High School seniors Bedirhan Ozmen and Sarah Davey have been selected Match Scholarship Recipients through the QuestBridge Scholars Network. Bedirhan has been accepted and granted a four-year full scholarship to Yale University, while Sarah has been accepted and granted a four-year full scholarship to Boston College.
The QuestBridge National College Match is a national program that connects high-achieving high school seniors from low-income backgrounds with full four-year scholarships to 52 of the nation’s best colleges. Out of over 25,000 applicants, QuestBridge selected 7,288 Finalists to be considered for the QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship. This year, QuestBridge’s 52 college partners matched with 2,627 Finalists, which is the highest number of Match Scholarship Recipients to-date for QuestBridge.
Bedirhan plans to major in urban studies. He hopes to one day be an urban planner or work in a government related field. Upon receiving the news, Bedirhan said, “I felt extremely excited, grateful, relieved, and shocked when I found out. Especially seeing that only 66 students nationwide matched to Yale University”.
Sarah plans to major in biology. She hopes to one day become a physical therapist. When Sarah heard the wonderful news she said, “I was overjoyed and very thankful to not only have received a scholarship to my dream school, but also not have to worry about the college application process anymore.”
