Carol Hummel
About: I am a literacy teacher at Mackrille School for grades K-4. This is my 31st year teaching in West Haven and my 19th year at Mackrille. I previously taught at Thompson School for 12 years.
Hobbies: I love taking Pilates and Yoga classes. I also like to read, garden, write, go to the movies, listen to music, play cards, and do puzzles. I like to spend time with my family and two dogs.
Fun Facts: I share a birthday with Harry Potter, which I think is pretty cool; I am learning French (you’re never too old to learn a new language!); I read 36 books last year.
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in the 4th grade. I went to Colonial Park School in West Haven and loved my teacher – Mrs. Miller. She inspired me to get my teaching degree.
