Parents and community members,

It has come to our attention that emails sent to our school district from some email service providers are not being delivered as intended. Several parents and community members have reported receiving return messages indicating their emails were blocked or the sender knows their email did not reach the school district.

This issue is most prevalent with emails originating from older providers, such as SNET.net and SBCGLOBAL.net, which do not meet “modern” security guidelines due to the absence of a *SPF record. Emails from providers without this identifier will not be accepted by our server.   We do not stand alone with this safety feature; all businesses and organizations are already making this a requirement for their email servers too.

If you are experiencing this issue and are using one of the older email providers, we recommend obtaining a new email address from a modern provider that meets updated security requirements, such as Gmail or another modern email provider.

Communication between the school, community, and home is vital, and we appreciate your commitment to maintaining this important line of communication.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

* SPF Record = Sender Policy Framework Record.  This record identifies the email server that is sending the message is a safe domain.  With the SPF record intact, our server will let that email through knowing it is from a safe source.
