Savin Rock hosted a chorus concert and an art show last week! Students sang songs and created pictures about the weather. The artwork featured the northern lights. What a great job by all these talented students!
Third graders at Savin Rock went bowling today, and Mayor Dorinda Borer stopped by!
The Savin Rock counseling staff provides social-emotional learning to all students in the building through a classroom model. Students benefit from ongoing instruction on feelings identification, building relationships, and problem-solving. Savin Rock is also fortunate to partner with both ACES and Cornell Scott - two organizations that provide an extensive array of mental health services. Savin Rock PTA is proud to announce Mary Winters as the 2024 Unsung Hero! Mrs. Winters is the Title 1 Reading Teacher. She was honored Wednesday night at the West Haven PTA Council's Unsung Hero Award ceremony with the other recipients. Thank you Mrs. Winters for all you do for our staff and students!

REMINDER | Wednesday, May 22, 2024, will be a half-day session for students due to Staff Development.
To celebrate teacher appreciation week the Savin Rock PTA had a delivery of Westies Nutrition Teas on Tuesday, set up an ice cream bar for teachers and staff on Friday, and had a daily raffle for gift card to a local West Haven restaurant. In addition, the math department, Mrs. King and Mrs. McGowan, delivered snacks to each class to treat teachers.

On April 25th, third graders at Savin Rock took a field trip to the Meigs Point Nature Center at Hammonasset Beach State Park! Students explored the Salt Marsh, looking for crabs under rocks during low tide, discovering rock formations, and finding living life forms on the beach!
