Miss New Jersey collegiate pageant contestant shares a holiday story with Washington's 1st graders!



West Haven Public Schools is providing breakfasts and lunches free of charge under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) through the Child Nutrition Department. The students in West Haven will continue to receive free benefits throughout the school year. The school districts that are in jeopardy of their funds running out are not on the CEP program. All West Haven Public Schools will continue to receive free breakfast and lunch for the duration of the school year.

Over 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ families helped Washington bring back its yearly holiday tradition - Family Craft Night! Families got to make gingerbread houses, sand art, holiday ornaments, and so much more!

Washington & Savin Rock hosted Family Math Night where over 300 people attended! Families were treated to a delicious pasta dinner & participated in over 15 games that covered all mathematical standards. Each family took home a copy of each game to continue the learning at home.

Washington Elementary School held a mock election today in which 1st graders voted for either Grace or Duck for President, while 4th graders signed them in, helped them submit their votes, and handed out stickers after the voting!

🚒 The West Haven Fire Department visited 4th graders at Washington today! Students got to learn how the firefighters use their equipment when they respond to calls while getting a first-hand look at all of it, including a walk-through of the fire truck! Firefighter Tucker also demonstrated how tall the ladder is and its capabilities. Principal Limosani was given a ride and was amazed at the beautiful views of West Haven, while students inside and outside the school waved her on. The WHFD also used this time to kick off the annual poster contest, “Fire Prevention Everyone Everyday.”
