𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 is coming to a neighborhood near you on Monday, August 15th! Busses will be at the following locations to hand out backpacks filled with supplies to West Haven Public School students:
12:00 – 12:30 PM | Carrigan, Washington, and Meadowbrook
12:45 – 01:15 PM | Forest, Glade Street, and Forest
01:30 – 02:00 PM | Molloy, Savin Rock, and Thompson
02:15 – 02:45 PM | WHHS
• Students MUST BE PRESENT to receive a backpack.
• One backpack per child!

Students at Washington enjoyed Field Day today with special visitors from WHPD!





Ahoy, mateys!! 2nd-graders at Washington were pirates for the day! They worked on map skills and developed treasure maps, while math lessons focused on adding their treasures. They also had a "special guest reader" who shared a story on how to become a pirate. Fun was had by all!





4th-grade students at Washington presented their Natural Disaster Projects to the entire school! Students answered questions and gave live demonstrations. Congrats to all these students on a job well done!





First-grade students, and some of their families, got to enjoy the newly renovated Hubbard Park nature trail in West Haven! 🍂 Students were given a list of items to locate and take notes on, and the students were more than happy to share all the things they observed upon their return!





Students in Mrs. Miller's 3rd-grade class were rewarded for reaching their class goals they set in January! The students had to earn 600 dojo points each week for 10 weeks. The prize was building cardboard houses! Congrats to these students on their great work! 👏




Washington held its May 'All-School' event this week, in which students earned a certificate from one of the following categories: 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙, 𝘼𝙬𝙚𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝘼𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚, or 𝘼𝙬𝙚𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙘𝙨! Congrats to these amazing students! 👏


West Haven Fire Marshall Roger Sicotte visited Washington Elementary School to present awards to Linda Poou-Garon (student) and Mrs. Flanagan (Art Teacher) for their participation in the Fire Prevention poster program! Linda’s poster was the top pick from Washington and it's now a finalist in the state portion of the competition! The theme was to create a picture that revolved around their motto “Fire Prevention - Everyone/Everyday”


Washington's 1st & 2nd graders visited WHHS today for "Fractured Fairytales." The students loved visiting and said the high school students did a great job! They wanted to tell them thank you, and they want to thank Mrs. Stratton for the invite!
