Creativity was on full display today at WHHS as culinary students took part in a Cupcake Wars challenge. Students in Ms. Logan’s class designed cupcakes inspired by Disney films and characters, incorporating themed decorations, flavors, and meaningful connections to their chosen movie or show. Students presented their creations to a panel of judges, who evaluated them on taste, appearance, and overall presentation. Every group brought impressive effort and imagination to the competition! 🧁✨

Fourth grade students from across West Haven Public Schools visited WHHS for a special performance presented by the Theatre Workshop. The show featured beloved fairytale stories and was enjoyed by all. The Theatre Workshop students did an outstanding job creating a fun and exciting experience for the visiting students. 🎭✨

Today, WHHS senior athletes officially signed their commitments to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. We are so proud of each of you and excited to watch you take the next step as you join your new teams and represent your future schools 🖊️💙

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to all of our incredible educators! 🍎💙 West Haven Public Schools is proud to have such dedicated and passionate teachers who make a difference in our students’ lives every day. Thank you for all that you do! 👏📚

WHHS athletes participated in a meaningful session today with Melvin Wells from the New Haven Prevention Council, who led a discussion centered on mental health, emotional well-being, and the importance of open communication in sports. Students reflected on moments where they felt pressure or discomfort and engaged in thoughtful conversation about healthy ways to manage those experiences. The discussion also explored the different ways leadership shows up in athletics, emphasizing how supporting teammates and fostering a positive environment can help maximize everyone’s potential both on and off the field. 🧠⚽

Happy Prom Night, Juniors! Enjoy the night, have fun, and be safe 🌹👔👗

Last night, West Haven Public Schools held its annual Unsung Hero Award Dinner, bringing the community together to recognize individuals who make a difference each day. From teachers to front office staff to security guards and many more roles, our district is supported by people who care deeply about their work and the students they serve.
Those honored have gone above and beyond in their roles. Their efforts often take place behind the scenes, but they play an important part in keeping our schools running smoothly. While it is always a team effort, this night was set aside to recognize their contributions.
Thank you for the work you put in every day. It was an honor to celebrate you all. 👏🎉
