What factors do we need to consider when planning a regime of personal care for our patients?
What are the necessary skills that should be mastered when providing care to our patients?
Why do we need to be accurate in the reporting and recording of skills provided?
How can our observations improve the quality of care given to our patients?
Big Idea(s):
We must maintain the dignity, safety and comfort of our patients in carrying out personal care activities.
Personal care skills should be done in a safe and dignified manner, always keeping in mind the Patient’s Bill of Rights.
Accuracy in reporting and recording of activities is crucial to the well-being of our patients.
Our observations can lead to changes in the care given, thereby resulting in improved conditions for our patients.

Compare the needs of clients/patients who have cultural, social and ethical differences in regard to the Patient’s Bill of Rights.
