On Monday, October 21st, we had the pleasure of welcoming some of our friends from Bailey for a tour of West Haven High School. Among them was Giancarlos Villegas, an eighth grader who naturally found the perfect spot to sit. As Giancarlos entered Mr. Bohan's office, Mr. Bohan graciously stepped aside, fully aware of Giancarlos's immense potential. Giancarlos is one of the kindest, brightest, and most welcoming students you'll ever meet. Every day, he goes out of his way to make meaningful connections, greeting everyone with a warm smile and a cheerful "good morning." His infectious positivity lights up the room and elevates the spirits of all who cross his path. Those who know him believe that one day, he will not only occupy Mr. Bohan's chair but perhaps even take a seat in the Oval Office. With his determination and talent, the sky is truly the limit for Giancarlos.

𝘍𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 is a remarkable club that started at Bailey last year, uniting students of diverse abilities to foster meaningful connections and friendships. This year, members from both Bailey Middle School and West Haven High School are continuing their journey together, proving that distance can't diminish their bond. Last week, seventh and eighth graders visited the high school to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. They participated in engaging icebreaker activities, enjoyed a special breakfast, collaborated on a creative poster, and explored the school through a guided tour. It was an inspiring day of reconnection, celebrating the power of friendship among truly fantastic friends!

Meet Sufyan & Tanjib, West Haven High School seniors and robotics team captains. After noticing new members struggle with basics, they started a non-profit to teach younger students foundational robotics skills—preparing them to excel in competitions before reaching high school. With 3 years of experience and top 1% international rankings, they're on a mission to inspire the next generation of engineers. They recently hosted the 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭, partnering with the West Haven Public Library to help 10 kids build and customize their own robots. The event aimed to spark an interest in technology and robotics among young learners. Here are some pictures from the event!
