Attention ESY families!! During ESY, The Eli Whitney Museum visited our students 3 times to create huge bubbles and bubble prints. On August 17th and 18th from 10:00-1:00 at the Eli Whitney Barn, our students' work will be displayed. We hope you can join us!


The Westies on Wheels backpack and school supply giveaway will be held on August 19th from 11 am until 1 pm at West Haven High School. All West Haven Public Schools students are eligible to receive a backpack and school supplies while supplies last.

Extended School Year (ESY) has been canceled for Tuesday, July 16th, and Wednesday, July 17th, but the program will be extended into next week. The additional dates are now Monday, July 22nd, and Tuesday, July 23rd.

Congratulations to the 782 West Haven High School students who made the honor roll in Quarter 4! Additionally, out of those 782 honor students, 552 earned high honors! 📚🧠


Congratulations to Myles Cortes, WHHS Class of 2024, on receiving a scholarship from the Amity Club of New Haven and the Amity Charitable Trust! Awardees were selected from a pool of area applicants with the following eligibility requirements: each applicant shall have a combined SAT score of 1,000 or higher and/or an ACT score greater than 20, and an unweighted GPA of greater than 3.0 is required. The students were presented with the awards at an Amity Club Scholarship Reception at Anthony’s Ocean View on June 4th, 2024.

On Tuesday, West Haven High School had a Book Award Ceremony in which 4 seniors received a book award from a prestigious college! Congratulations to the following students: Justin Woychowski – Seyton/Yale Club of New Haven Book Award; Bedirhan Ozmen – Harvard Club of Southern CT Book Prize; Sarah Davey – Brown University Book Award; and Amna Mustafa – Smith College Club of Greater New Haven Book Award.


Graduation Day is finally here! The West Haven High School Graduation will take place today, June 7, 2024, at 4 pm on the turf at Ken Strong Stadium. Here’s a look at the Top-10 students in the Class of 2024!


WHHS junior Kyle Walker recently won an Honorable Mention (and a $50 prize) in the annual Connecticut Foundation for Open Government (CFOG) Essay Contest! Kyle wrote about how the Constitution’s First Amendment free speech clause and the Fourteenth Amendment equal protection clause, protect all student-led clubs to meet after school, on school grounds. Congratulations Kyle!
