Last night, West Haven High School hosted its 2nd Annual Fine Arts Festival! In addition to all the incredible artwork on display, there were also performances by the Band, Choral, and Theater, with light refreshments from the Culinary Arts program!











Mackrille second graders had some visitors from Bailey NJHS members. The second graders have been working on multiplication, so the Bailey Buddies helped them build Array Cities and played Roll An Array together.








👏 Congratulations to Elizabeth Shea and Devont’e Campbell on winning the Best Dynamic Duo in a Musical Award, and Carmella Ruiz on winning the Dance Molinari Scholarship at the Halo Awards! Overall, the West Haven High School Theatre Workshop was nominated for 20 awards for its productions of Grease and You Can’t Take It With You.




Congratulations to WHHS junior Dana Davis on winning 3rd place ($300) in the Connecticut Foundation for Open Government (CFOG) Statewide Essay Contest!! She responded to topic #3 in the last picture. Dana currently boasts an A+ average in all her classes and is a top student in Mr. Consorte’s (second picture) AP U.S. Government & Politics class!




Washington 1st-graders took a field trip to Hubbard Park yesterday and walked the nature trails while completing a scavenger hunt to look for different items within the park! Students enjoyed their time at the park and learned many new things they were eager to share.






Savin Rock 4th-graders put on a Spring Concert yesterday! The students did a dress rehearsal earlier in the day in front of their peers and teachers before performing in front of their family members at night.


Congratulations to all our WHHS students who were honored today for their excellence both academically and athletically during the 41st Annual Rotary Club of West Haven Scholar-Athlete Recognition ceremony!

Materials donated by the West Haven Seahawks were used to build a large Adirondack chair by Mr. Martin’s Construction Class at the high school! The chair is located on the boardwalk at the end of Altschuler Boulevard.

On Wednesday night, Bailey Middle School inducted 150 students into its National Junior Honor Society! The ceremony took place at the WHHS auditorium. Congratulations to all our inductees, as well as their family members that have supported them throughout the school year!








Volunteers from the United Way came for a second visit this year to share their love of reading with Washington students.
Some of the volunteers were even former Washington students themselves!

WHHS celebrated 'Get Outside And Play for Kid’s Mental Health Day' with a school-wide picnic today







4th-grade students at Washington presented their natural disaster projects to their families and peers! Projects showcased tsunamis, volcanoes, hurricanes, and more. Students did research and typed their findings into published reports. What a great job by these talented kids!











Congratulations to all 61 students who were inducted into the West Haven High School Chapter of the National Honor Society this week! The event opened with a candle-lighting ceremony by students Vittoria Favia (Scholarship), Shirleya Lawal (Character), Dulcemaria Castillo (Leadership), and Brianna Montano-Vazquez (Service). Class of 2022 Hannah Davey was invited as the guest speaker, before Principal Dana Paredes presented the old members (45 students), and Advisor Chrystal Fanelli introduced the new members!
