Savin Rock 4th-graders put on a Spring Concert yesterday! The students did a dress rehearsal earlier in the day in front of their peers and teachers before performing in front of their family members at night.

Materials donated by the West Haven Seahawks were used to build a large Adirondack chair by Mr. Martin’s Construction Class at the high school! The chair is located on the boardwalk at the end of Altschuler Boulevard.

WHHS celebrated 'Get Outside And Play for Kid’s Mental Health Day' with a school-wide picnic today
On Wednesday night, Bailey Middle School inducted 150 students into its National Junior Honor Society! The ceremony took place at the WHHS auditorium. Congratulations to all our inductees, as well as their family members that have supported them throughout the school year!
Volunteers from the United Way came for a second visit this year to share their love of reading with Washington students.
Some of the volunteers were even former Washington students themselves!

4th-grade students at Washington presented their natural disaster projects to their families and peers! Projects showcased tsunamis, volcanoes, hurricanes, and more. Students did research and typed their findings into published reports. What a great job by these talented kids!
Congratulations to all 61 students who were inducted into the West Haven High School Chapter of the National Honor Society this week! The event opened with a candle-lighting ceremony by students Vittoria Favia (Scholarship), Shirleya Lawal (Character), Dulcemaria Castillo (Leadership), and Brianna Montano-Vazquez (Service). Class of 2022 Hannah Davey was invited as the guest speaker, before Principal Dana Paredes presented the old members (45 students), and Advisor Chrystal Fanelli introduced the new members!
It was a big concert night for the district on Tuesday! Mackrille and Pagels Schools each hosted a 4th Grade Chorus Concert, while Bailey’s 7th and 8th graders capped off the evening with a Spring Concert of their own! On Friday, May 19, 2023, the Bailey 8th Grade Band competed in the “Music in the Parks Music Festival” at Westfield State University and Six Flags of New England. There were 14 middle school and high school music groups from Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, and Connecticut who performed and received ratings based on their performances. The Bailey 8th Grade Band received the highest rating of Superior and 1st place for the division! They also received the Overall trophy for receiving the highest score of any middle school band! Congratulations to these incredible students, we are very proud of their accomplishments!

WHHS AP U.S. Government and Politics took a field trip to the State Capitol today! Rep. Dorinda Borer gave the tour of the House and Senate, before going to the State Supreme Court. There were 43 kids in attendance!

‘Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies’ students from Pagels visited Chase Elementary School in Waterbury on May 20th! The 3rd and 4th-grade students learned how to keep their minds and bodies healthy by participating in a fun hula hoop program called, “Bring on the Hoopla!”
