On Tuesday, West Haven High School had a Book Award Ceremony in which 4 seniors received a book award from a prestigious college! Congratulations to the following students: Justin Woychowski – Seyton/Yale Club of New Haven Book Award; Bedirhan Ozmen – Harvard Club of Southern CT Book Prize; Sarah Davey – Brown University Book Award; and Amna Mustafa – Smith College Club of Greater New Haven Book Award.

Graduation Day is finally here! The West Haven High School Graduation will take place today, June 7, 2024, at 4 pm on the turf at Ken Strong Stadium. Here’s a look at the Top-10 students in the Class of 2024!
First graders at Washington enjoyed their visit from the Maritime Aquarium on Wednesday! They learned about all of the various ways different animals adapt and grow in their environments. Students also had the opportunity to examine live animals, their shells, and other various artifacts!

Students at Savin Rock had a lot of fun at their Field Day yesterday!
WHHS junior Kyle Walker recently won an Honorable Mention (and a $50 prize) in the annual Connecticut Foundation for Open Government (CFOG) Essay Contest! Kyle wrote about how the Constitution’s First Amendment free speech clause and the Fourteenth Amendment equal protection clause, protect all student-led clubs to meet after school, on school grounds. Congratulations Kyle!

Savin Rock hosted a chorus concert and an art show last week! Students sang songs and created pictures about the weather. The artwork featured the northern lights. What a great job by all these talented students!

Forest Elementary School enjoyed an enrichment program on Thursday with the Harlem Wizards! The professional athletes demonstrated their basketball skills and tricks and were great showmen who delivered fantastic entertainment to all. There was much excitement and energy from the students with lots of student and staff participation loaded with humor and smiles. They ended the assemblies with a positive message about the importance of education, health, and fitness.
