The Bailey Bands will be performing this week at Bailey Middle School! On Wednesday, May 8th, the 7th Grade Band and Jazz Band will be in concert at Bailey Middle School at 7:00 PM. Doors will open for this event at 6:30 PM. On Thursday, May 9th, the 8th Grade Band and Percussion Ensembles will be in concert at Bailey Middle School at 7:00 PM. Doors will open for this event at 6:30 PM. These are free concerts. Please come and support our talented musicians if your schedule allows it.

On Thursday, May 2nd, the West Haven High School Jazz Band and Concert Choir performed alongside the Bailey Middle School Jazz Band in the WHHS Auditorium! Congratulations to all these incredibly talented students on a job well done!

Forest School utilizes an integrated support model that nurtures the philosophy of supports for all. Beginning with arrival, students are greeted by all staff including the principal, social worker, school psychologist, and behaviorist, to ensure that each day starts positive. The hallways are decorated with student celebrations of learning and monthly awards for perfect attendance ensure that each child has a positive experience in school. First up for mental health awareness month is our Washington support team! Students in grades K-4 benefit from ongoing classroom SEL lessons on character education, emotion identification and other skills needed for relationship building. Washington students also have access to a School Based Health Clinician located right in the building. On April 23rd, WHHS Grade 11 Government students attended a forum called “Politics Matter” at QU Law School. Several area high school students attended the forum organized by the New Haven County Bar Association.
On April 25th, third graders at Savin Rock took a field trip to the Meigs Point Nature Center at Hammonasset Beach State Park! Students explored the Salt Marsh, looking for crabs under rocks during low tide, discovering rock formations, and finding living life forms on the beach!
The West Haven High School choral ensembles performed songs in a Master Class for Dr. Felicia Barber today! Dr. Barber is an Associate Professor Adjunct of Choral Conducting at the Yale School of Music and is also the Conductor of Yale Camerata.

She coached our students on repertoire, that they are currently learning, and challenged their musicality to a whole other level!

Seth Haley Elementary School recently hosted an Art Show, in which art teacher Christina Colon hung up at least one artwork from each student in the school (pre-K through 4th grade)! Check out some of the incredible work by our talented students!
