On Monday, October 21st, we had the pleasure of welcoming some of our friends from Bailey for a tour of West Haven High School. Among them was Giancarlos Villegas, an eighth grader who naturally found the perfect spot to sit. As Giancarlos entered Mr. Bohan's office, Mr. Bohan graciously stepped aside, fully aware of Giancarlos's immense potential. Giancarlos is one of the kindest, brightest, and most welcoming students you'll ever meet. Every day, he goes out of his way to make meaningful connections, greeting everyone with a warm smile and a cheerful "good morning." His infectious positivity lights up the room and elevates the spirits of all who cross his path. Those who know him believe that one day, he will not only occupy Mr. Bohan's chair but perhaps even take a seat in the Oval Office. With his determination and talent, the sky is truly the limit for Giancarlos.

On October 23rd, Forest Elementary students joined an inspiring “Abracabully” assembly, where they learned powerful lessons on standing up to bullying, supporting those who are being bullied, and encouraging positive choices. With a mix of magic and heartwarming messages, students were reminded to show respect, care for one another, and spread kindness every day.

𝘍𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 is a remarkable club that started at Bailey last year, uniting students of diverse abilities to foster meaningful connections and friendships. This year, members from both Bailey Middle School and West Haven High School are continuing their journey together, proving that distance can't diminish their bond. Last week, seventh and eighth graders visited the high school to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. They participated in engaging icebreaker activities, enjoyed a special breakfast, collaborated on a creative poster, and explored the school through a guided tour. It was an inspiring day of reconnection, celebrating the power of friendship among truly fantastic friends!

Check out these incredible creations from Mrs. Nebor's 4th-grade class at Pagels! Every year, students dive into a spooky or mysterious book, summarize the story, and bring it to life by crafting a haunted house inspired by their reading. This project is a family affair, where everyone can pitch in to make the story come alive. Once complete, these masterpieces are displayed in the school foyer for all to enjoy!

We were thrilled to welcome author David A. Kelly to Haley School yesterday! He shared his journey of becoming a writer with our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders, and gave an exciting look into his popular 𝘉𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘔𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 series. From visiting baseball stadiums for research to crafting stories filled with suspense, characters, and plot twists, David gave a behind-the-scenes look at the writing and editing process. He even shared examples of feedback from his editor at Random House! The students loved the Q&A session, where they asked about his experiences and what he's learned from writing books. It was an inspiring day for all!
